Imagination & Seeing

"You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus." - Mark Twain

"This is why I speak to them in parables: 'Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not understand.'" - Jesus of Nazareth, quoting the Old Testament prophet Isaiah, in Matthew 13:13.

What do you think? Has Twain captured the essence of what Jesus is saying?

Heya Tim!

Well, well - I umm'd and ahh'd about that scripture too, but decided not to. Those leadership blurbs are adapted transcripts of a radio segment I do. Hope you don't mind being quoted and referenced. It's a great book, Marko from YS recommended it.

I think that Twain's comment reflects a higher priority on the humanities and discernment in daily thought. I liked it, anyway. :)
