JW on CBS Evening News Tonight?
Last Sunday Kim Kennedy from CBS in New York showed up at the 9:00 a.m. gathering of our church.
She was developing a story about the reality that the religious political landscape is shifting in America. For an emerging group of churches, to be a Christian does not mean to be automatically tied to the Republican Party or the religious right. Of course this phenomenon is being played out in many other settings beyond emerging communities of faith. Neverthless the stood outside the church and interviewed JW community members about various political issues. Then they came inside and filmed a good part of the worship gathering - let me add, very inconspicously, too. ;-). Then they moved on to some other area churches to do it again.
We were told the segment, if aired, will likely do so on the CBS Evening News this Saturday - in other words: tonight. So if you can tune in @ 5:30 p.m. tonight and see what happens.
Hey Tim:
The piece is viewable on the CBSNews website at http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=4317069n
Awesome story, congrats! - wish I could have heard what you were preaching. ;)

Tim,
Gordon MacDonald ripped you off this semester in Leadership! Haha, I saw the Intuitive Leader on the cover and got excited because I figured it was you. Wouldn't you know that your cover story issue was the one they skipped me on. I need to figure out if they can resend me that. I can pay for postage if you've got some extra copies around.

Thanks, Katy. I missed it and used the link to watch it.
Mark - totally. I picked up the issue and thought, "What the heck? I didn't know this was coming." I was punked! ;-) As for the issue that featured my story, if you haven't read it it is available online. In fact, I think I have a link somewhere on the blog. Check around.
