JW Baptisms
I just found this video of the Jacob's Well community doing a baptism celebration in our Banner Hall. The video says 2002, but I don't think that can be right. I would guess 2000 or 2001 at the latest. Anyway, it was put together more than awhile ago by Todd Pearson. It has been so long since I have seen this that I forgot about it. Check it out.
Mike Crawford and I are definitely looking old-school. And I am the one playing guitar and leading music with Mike in case you can't tell. Really old-school.
Back in those days of our church, we hadn't begun to go on pilgrimage, we weren't taking a Sunday to drive out to Shawnee Mission Park for an all-day church picnic and baptism service at the beach. Nope. Instead we called a hot-tub rental company and they delivered a soft-tub to our fellowship hall. I am especially fond of this video because about halfway in we baptize my two oldest children, Mabry and Annie - who were not so old at the time. Amazing.
I love this sacrament.
Here's a few more pics of JW baptisms through time: three from Shawnee Mission Park and one from our pilgrimage to YouthFront South this last summer.

I totally remember this. It's the summer of '01, right before I moved to NJ. I remember Bruce and his wife's daughter, Mabry and Annie, and Chris--the guy with the weird last name who worked for Young Life in Lee's Summit.
Wow.
I remember the whole thing very fondly.

The funniest thing is that Phil L. hasn't changed a bit! I think he still even wears the shirt he had on in the video! :P

Hey Rocky - great memory, bro. For some reason it seems like that was so long ago. Blessings.

You are right about that, Tim.
