Sacred Space and Time

I had a really great Christmas season this year. Advent was rich and full. Somehow all of the distractions that have seemed so bewildering for so many years faded into the background this year. Christ remained. Family time was rich. Life at Jacob's Well, especially in worship, had a richness and depth that was very nourishing to me. Christ in Christmas. I took the week off between Christmas and New Year's. Then during the following week we had a two day staff retreat. It is so tempting to launch into a new year at full tilt, but I have really tried to not do that . January seems like a time for rest, or at least working in different ways with different rhythms. Again, nourishment. A full tank of gas for the journey ahead. A couple of days ago Philip Lesniewski sent me a couple photos he took without a flash during our Christmas Eve gathering. I love this shot. xmaseveworship.jpg
It reminds me of another shot Tim Samoff shot from our sunrise Easter gathering two years ago.
