Just finished watchin it. Glad it is on again. A little disappointing on the hatch - wanted to know a little more - but that would ruin the hook for next week. Oh well.

Tim,
Great show! I have so many unanswered questions that I am having trouble sleeping tonight.

I love how they made it sound like all of our questions would be answered next week!

Other than the fact that I got Linux working on an iBook (very cool indeed!!) watching LOST was the highlight of my week.

Wow...what an episode. Lost is back with a vengeance. That opening sequence with the dude working out, vaccinating himself (or something) - I couldn't figure out what was happening. I thought the show was opening with a flashback to something in Sawyer's past - then the bang and the racket and this character going into full lock-down mode...the cranking mirrors going down a hole and the whole time a budding realization: "this isn't in the past, this is right now" just as the mirrors lock into place and we see Jack and Locke and Kate and Hurley staring down the hole. BRILLIANT. I sat in awe. Also the scene of Jack weeping as he discovers this woman is completely healed...relief for her, of course, but something significant shifting in his own heart. This show has so much heart.
I hope this narrative is an already finished arc. In other words I would love it if they said the plot of this story is three seasons - 66 episodes - and when it is over, it is over. I am afraid that they will milk this thing past the point of narrative integrity. JJ Abrams, if you are listening, go the route of Jim Brown and Barry Sanders, please. No Jerry Rice or Steve Carlton fade jobs. Go out on top. Serve your story.

I read some very interesting thoughts on the plot of the show at www.oceanicflight815.com It really is interesting how much people are getting into this show. The post I read had something to do with a psychologist and his theory that we all have a twin. The person who posted had something to go with everyone of the evil numbers. 4--the number of seperation (not 6 like some think) between any 2 people
8--the eighth continent that all our twins live on or have lived on
16--forgot this one
23--the difference in age between you and your "twin"
42--forgot this one too
I forgot the name of the doctor who came up with this theory, but if anybody knows it, let me know.
He also listed all the ways the numbers are used in the series. WEIRD!!! I just can't believe that somebody would sit down and figure all this stuff out. Erica and I are really enjoying the show.

I am pretty sure the genetic mirror theory in which you talking about David, is a hoax. Read through all the posts and you begin to see that there is only one poster who actually has seen the book describing this supposed theory. This person, notlost17, has not provided any evidence that the book really exists. For those of you who have a life and cannot wade through discussion boards;), go to http://forums.go.com/abc/primetime/lost/threadthreadID=560350&forumStart=30 to view the thread

Btw. Marseille Roussau is the supposed mathmatician who wrote this book.

Tim, I made Doug watch it with me, against his will. Scotty and Brooke keep telling us about it, and then yesterday some of my author friends said I HAD to watch it because of the fantastic writing. But then a long-lost (Hmmm...) friend called just as I started to get into it....a 45-minute call. Ah, well, there's always next week, and season one on DVD.
In the meantime, I'll feast on Tuesday night's "House." Oh, how I love Greg Laurie!

the way ABC ran last seaon's finale right up to this season's opener was so helpful
things I loved:
* the hatch opening montage was perfectly contained
* jack's rally the troops talk, followed by a feel good, then back to the hatch
* the theology lesson while running the steps
* walt showing up in a dream state, all wet
* jack's ultimate wife forgiving him, preceding healing
glad that the 2nd episode will help us understand more about the others

my oh my what storytelling
i really loved how abc played last season's finale right up to this season's premeiere
things that grabbed me
* hatch guy's routine was a time capsule, including the the turntable (which I had as a teenager)
* jack's "rally the troops" speech, followed by momentary group hug, then - poof - back to the hatch
* jack's ultimate wife aboslving him BEFORE the surgery & the healing - the room's reaction was priceless
* the sermon on the steps with jack & hatch guy
* walt, all wet, in a vision
I am really excited with the teaser for next week - I want to hear about the others, learn what they think, find out what they did to us.

Hey-
I just happened upon your blog. Praise to God for what he's doing through you.
I watched a few episodes of Lost last year and watched the premiere last night with my wife who is hooked.
My brother-in-law has a theory (that may or may not be his) that the people actually all died as a result of the cras and that the island is a rendition of "the other side" as envisioned by the writers and directors.
I don't know...there are a lot of holes to the theory (although I wouldn't expect ABC to hold to mane Judeo-Christian concepts of "the other side").
BUT...I've always thought it interesting that so many people survived a plane crash like that. Then again, I've been accused of ruining tv and movie plots due to my extreme realism.
Anyway, may God bless you as you continue to seek his face.
F&TC,

Hey, right on with the love for House. Brilliant writing and acting by Laurie. I watched Lost with some friends of mine with whom I have watched the entire first season. And quite frankly they were disappointed by the fact that all three of us guessed who the dude was halfway through the episode, as soon as he showed up in the stadium. One of the great things about this show has been the unpredicability, the total shockers they manage to keep throwing our way to keep us guessing, so to have such an obvious conincidence was quite uncharacteristic, we thought. I still have faith, and was all in all satisfied, especially with the opening sequence and Walt's appearance. One other thing: did anyone notice a change in the quality of the film, the less polished look to the show, especially the flashbacks? Maybe I'm nuts.
BTW, I download every sermon of Tim's, since I live up in Kirksville, and I really love the Word he shares and the community aspect to Jacob's Well. God Bless

Lost almost redeemed prime time television for me. It’s a great show.
Did you all think that Will (Michael’s son) had grown since last season? It will be interesting how that plays out.
A quick commit of Tim’s arc idea. This concept was used for the x-files. The first few seasons were great; however, fox extended it for several more years since it was so popular. This was detrimental for the show. Let’s hope that abc doesn’t make the same mistake with Lost.
