John the Baptist
I am always intrigued when a new biblical archaeological claim is made. Last year it was the ostuary of Jesus's brother James. Today I read on the Google news aggregator about a new find.
Archaeologists are claiming to have found a cave where John the baptizer began his early ministry. Follow this link to read about this interesting archaeological development outside Israel.

hey Brooke, see ya tomorrow :)
I agree Will. I find first century Israel/Palestine incredibly complex, textured and fascinating.
Hi John - I'm almost back, but beginning to post again. By the way, I was in Oregon for three weeks and spend 12 hours on the lower Deschutes River with my brother and Jason Clark flying fishing, a first for me (and hopefully not a last). I'll post some pics later.
