Ancient of Days, Ancient of Ways

ancient_of_days_sm.jpg

Reading from Habakkuk this morning...

"God, I have heard what our ancestors say about you, and I'm stopped in my tracks, down on my knees. Do among us what you did among them. Work among us as you worked among them. And as you bring judgment, as you surely must, remember mercy."

This from Jeremiah...

"This is what the Lord says: 'Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.'"

Interesting... After seeing the Passion last night, I couldn't help but wondering if I pray to the same God that Jesus was praying to in the garden and on the cross. the God of David and the God of Abraham... This God that Habakkuk speaks of. I mean, I know I am praying to the same magnificant God, but I don't know if I've actually ever really gotten it.
